chapter 15: Pip tries to teach Joe to read and then brings up going to Miss Havisham’s. Joe lets him go and if he is unwanted should never go back.
Joe gives him and Orlick, a fellow forge man, have a holiday. Mrs.Joe gets into an argument with Orlick which leads to Joe fighting him and winning. Pip goes to see Miss Havisham and finds Estella is not there. Miss Havisham questions Pip about if he likes her.
Chapter 16: Pips old guilt about the convict resurfaces when a convict was suspected to attack his sister with a leg iron. Mrs. Joe keeps writing T referring to Orlick. When Orlick comes in she wants to please him.
Chapter 17: Pip visits Miss. Havisham and Estella is still not there. He goes on a walk with Biddy and tells her he is dissatisfied with his place in life and says that She is not good enough. Biddy tells him to stay away from Estella. Biddy thinks Orlick is flirting with her.
Chapter 18: Mr. Wopsle interrupted by an unknown man by the name of Mr. Jaggers. Mr. Jaggers was ridiculing Mr. Wopsle for coming to such a fast conclusion. Pip sees him as the that he saw on the stairs at Miss. Havishams. He presents himself as lawyer Jaggers. He tells Pip that he will inherit a large sum of money and move to London to become a gentleman. Pip feels bad for leaving Joe and Biddy.
