chapter 19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26

Chapter xix: Pip is still as pompous in the morning he goes to get a suit tailored to him and even lets Mr. Pumblechook take him out for dinner. He tries to comfort Joe but it is forced. He leaves the next morning feeling bad about himself.

chapter xx: Jaggers takes Pip to London where he is amazed at how different it is. Mr. Jaggers seems important as there are many people waiting to talk to him. A man comes along with someone who is dressed as a pieman but it is obvious that those aren’t his clothes. they see the man who is not sober and has a black eye which was painted over Mr. Jaggers rejects the man. Pip meets Mr. Wemmick.
Note: People paying Mr. Jaggers to sort out there problems.
“with a murderous-looking tall individual, in a short suit of white linen and a paper cap. This guileless confectioner was not by any means sober, and had a black eye in the green stage of recovery, which was painted over.”

chapter xxi: Wemmick introduces Pip to Herbert Pocket. Herbert Pocket has bought a lot of food which is clearly coming out of Pips money. Pip spends the night at Herbert’s when he realises it is the pale young gentleman he fought at Miss. Havishams.
“And you,” said I, “are the pale young gentleman!”

chapter xxii: We find out that Herbert is on the search for wealth but is not very succesful. At Dinner they discuss the story behind Miss H. “Mr .Jaggers is Miss h man of business and solicitor and has her confidence when no one else does”
Miss H had a half brother who did not like her. A man showed himself to love Miss H but never truly did so when Miss H invested a lot into him he took advantage if her. On the day of the wedding the man never showed up. Leaving a letter at twenty to nine. It is belived the half brother may have been involved. Later on Miss H adopted Estella and raised her to hate men. Pip goes to visit the Pockets and sees Mrs .Pockets reading a book about titles. She has a stool under her skirt which trips up the kids.

chapter xxiii: We find out that Mrs. Pocket was raised in a background of wealth as she was the daughter of a deceased knight. Mr. Pocket married her in secrecy so the parents had to give consent. They believed she must marry a title which Mr. Pocket was not. We meet Bentley Drummle who is a future Baronet and Startop. At dinner Pip focuses on his table manners.

Chapter xxiv: Pip speaks to Mr. Jaggers about buying furniture where he is tested of his knowledge. “Four times five will do handsomely, will it?”
Pip answers saying twenty. Pip meets Mr. Wemmick who invites him over. We see Mr. Jagger’s in the court sending shivers down the judges and criminals backs.

Chapter xxv: pip continues to stay with the Pockets and doesn’t hear from Mr. Wemmcik for a while so proposes to visit him. He visits Mr. Wemmick who is merry outside of work. He calls his house the castle which looks like something out of fantasy. He lives with his “Aged” parent. We find out he is deaf. A girl comes to look after the aged. Mr. Wemmicks house is very interesting with a draw bridge to enter.

xxvi: When Pip is walking with mr. Jagger’s there are people who are anxious to speak with him. When they walk in to his home it is all dark and gloomy. Jagger’s has a lot of criminal cases on bookshelves. We see the women Wemmick told Pip to look out for. Pip and Drummlentalk about a loan Drummle took from Startop
