Chapter 34 and 35

Chapter xxxiv: pip and Herbert have a conversation on how Herbert may be able to get capital. Pip and Herbert have been taking a lot of money to buy things for there house and everyday seem to fall further apart and bored. They count there debt in round numbers. They then receive a letter saying Mrs. Joe had died and that they wanted Pip to go to London.

Chapter xxxv: Pip is quite surprised that he misses his sister as much as he did. He is haunted by the image of her sitting in her chair. Pip argues with Biddy but then agrees to come and visit more often. He tells Joe and leaves.

`Good-bye, dear Joe! No, don’t wipe it off for God’s sake, give me your blackened hand! I shall be down soon, and often.’
